• Conservative

  This does not mean that our flagship scheme "Cognito" shies away from taking calculated risks. Being disciples of Warren Buffett, we strongly subscribe to his belief that "Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing". Hence all our investment choices are a culmination of stringent analysis and screening. "Capital preservation" is the foundation on which our PMS is based. We see ourselves as fiduciaries of our clients' money and that is why we refuse to take unwarranted risk with it.

• Process-based

  We believe that success is an outcome of solid processes rather than strong personalities. A process-based approach may seem dull and boring. But then, we have never claimed that we "will provide excitement" as part of our service offerings.

• Contrarian

  For us, investing means, buying low and selling high. "Contrarianism" is a manifestation of this belief. We find value in good companies who are temporarily unloved and forgotten by "momentum" loving market participants. However, we are not prisoners of our image. We will not hesitate to sensibly capitalise on some short-term opportunities arising due to certain special situations from time-to-time. However, as a rule we usually eschew stocks and sectors which are regarded as favourites through "consensus".

• Performance-oriented

  Our performance is the outcome of the processes we follow. You will not see us advertising heavily, sponsoring high-profile events etc. We prefer our numbers to do the talking. We believe that outperformance over periods of three years and above is important.
